The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.” Rumi
In between the bars of music, there is a pause. Amidst the images on a canvas, there is white space. And, a palate must be cleansed in between tasting to truly appreciate the nuances of flavor. How much more does our life need moments of time and space to allow for recharging and a fresh perspective and outlook?
Create some space for the joys of the spirit to breathe and your heart to connect to your matter. Look for gratitude and hopefulness in these moments of peaceful restoration.
So often, I find myself doing instead of being…trying so hard to reach an imagined height of happiness, only to plummet into a state of exhaustion and starvation for healthy insight. I do not listen to wise words, and forget that proving yourself is not proof of who you are. In fact, it is only when we silence the incessant drone of “should of, could of, would of” will we truly hear the message of love and grace being delivered in the space we leave open. Allow it to lighten and fill the darkened crevices forged over time from hurts and sadness, leaving no room for the incessant erosion of negativity.
From this stable foundation, find yourself where your God wants you to be, free of the burden of trying to be someone you are not, and able to embody the unique qualities that he gave you to develop. Find yourself in the space created for your individual growth. Welcome the fresh air of contentment, as it nourishes your soul, knowing that it is always there…waiting for your embrace.
